I was lucky enough to acquire these Beautiful wild caught swordtails from legendary fishkeeper Pat Hartman during a local fish auction. This particular line comes from Kees de Jong collection in 2000. The collection point is listed as Puente Chin Luis (9km from Sarabia, Oaxaca, Mexico).
It is my goal to get these into the hands of as many other fishkeepers as possible because they deserve to be well represented in the hobby. Not only are their colors more impressive then the hybridized, mass produced swordtails, commonly found in pet stores today, but they are very well mannered and not nearly as aggressive to their fry or other tankmates as pet store swordtails. Give these guys a try, you won’t be disappointed!
